Members Overwhelmingly Approve Amtrak Contract NCFO Amtrak members have ratified a collective bargaining agreement with Amtrak by an almost 9:1 margin.
"The fact that 88 percent of our Amtrak members backed this contract sends an important message to management," said NCFO President George Francisco announcing the results of the mail-ballot voting. "Throughout the outrageously long contract battle, our members made it clear that all they wanted was a fair treatment and a fair contract. When finally presented with such a contract, they embraced it." The agreement-which runs through 2009-includes compounded retroactive wage increases totaling over 35 percent, plus raises of 4 percent on July 1, 2008 and a 4.5 percent on July 1, 2009.
